However, the old SLiMP3 will not not connect to slimserver. It retrieves an IP address from the DHCP server and then just sits there saying "Looking for Slim Server ...". It is at firmware version 2.3 and has been for ages. It connects to the wireless network via a Lynksys bridge (and has for years).
As I'm happily running a SliMP3 alongside a SB2 and 2xSB1 there can't be a serious problem. You might check the network: Can you ping the SliMP3 from the server? Is the server setting in the player correctly set? Does it work if you set the slimserver for the SliMP3 manually?
