To me, the big things you would lose with the netbook are 1) simple easy
docking charger, 2)single handed control, and 3)instant on.

With the controller, you can set it to turn the screen off when it is
inactive.  I have mine set up this way.  So, when I pull it from it's
dock, it comes on instantly and with a few scrolls and clicks, I have
music playing in seconds.  I don't think a netbook will give you that
experience.  Because of this simplicity of use, my wife uses it a lot
too.

When I'm using my laptop, I'm generally listening to music (like right
now).  Under these conditions, I use my notebook to control my music.  

However, using the web interface vs. the controller interface, I don't
feel restricted with either.  I actually like the web interface.
