One potential pitfall...depending on the firmware rev on the controller now, it may or may not be able to deal with password protection on your SqueezeCenter. If you have trouble getting the controller to connect to your server, you can try temporarily disabling the password. It will then connect to the server and update the FW to a current version. Then you should be able to connect to the server.
I'm not sure how you enter the server password at that point - you may just have to do another factory reset on the controller. With current FW, the setup wizard on the controller will ask for the username and password of SqueezeCenter. I recently had to do a factory reset on my controller to help debug a bug I reported and it asked for the username and password. I was happy to see that the configuration usability had improved.
