For searches, definitely list them.  Make the information available at
the track level in both the web and remote UIs when browsing and when
playing.  So they need to be in the database as track artists.  But
exclude them when browsing artists.  And, drumroll please....... make
it an option.  I'm sure that if the current behavior is changed then
about 1/2 of SB owners will be screaming bloody murder.

I have a quite a few compilations in my collection which I've just
begun ripping and cataloging (knowing that it would be a PITA to tag it
all correctly) and the artist list is growing ridiculously large.  When
browsing artists, including those artists with just one or two tracks
in all the thousands of tracks in the collection isn't very user
friendly.

There should be a way of tagging (or recognizing) an album as a
compilation and then excluding those artists who are only on
compilations.
