I think there were some posts about tests like this in the Audiophile forum (thar be dragons!) recently. I think at this point everyone can rest assured that when using a lossless format with no bitrate limiting, volume control or replay gain the SB is bitperfect. If there's server-side transcoding involved then of course there's the possibility of an error at that stage, but it's trivial to test the binary in question (e.g. flac, sox, whatever).
