Does the SB3 respond more readily if controlled from the SC? What
combination of SC and SB3 are you running? And since you did get a new
wireless router, did you get the latest firmware for your router?

I am asking because you seem to have changed several things at once.

I am not *that* surprised that WEP wore out its welcome, support for it
is starting to become a bit patchier. I think these days most devices
are more stable when using WPA, but some routers still require a
firmware update for widest WPA compatibilty, as do end devices.

So step number one is ensure you have solid wireless connectivity,
which I would define as the ability to run network test at 2Mbit/s for
a long period of time without errors.

Once that is the case, I would look at the relationship between SC and
the SB3, which can get unstable at times. It is not often, but in my 3+
years using SB3s I would say that I have had to uninstall *everything*
about 4 times. Meaning factory reset the SB3, uninstall SC and erase
preferences, and start from scratch. The reason for that was mysterious
and inexplicable sudden loss of connectivity, and just as in your case,
weird effects all around. It can happen. But before you do that, ensure
that connectivity is solid.
