and i have no idea why; my computer guy replaced norton with avast and said it was better. it does appear to be better. i only have one virus that comes on the screen when i shut down my computer. my computer guy said he will identify it the next time he comes over. for now, he said not to worry. with norton, i was constantly shutting down and this is A VERY EXPENSIVE computer setup. so, just through one year of use, i guess i like avast. -- Mitchell J.
