Because of all the issues with sleep modes, which I have never been able to run reliably, I keep my computer always on, but in powersaving mode. The stepping feature works quite nicely in Intel processors, and power consumption of my computer goes down from about 170W when in full tilt mode (monitor and RAID included) to less than 50W when everything gets powered down and the CPU is stepped down to 5%. I would love to get the sleep mode and wakeup from LAN to work stable over long periods of time, but it's always resulted in weird issues (i.e. monitor doesn't wake up and such)... -- pablolie ...pablo Server: 3.3 GHz Intel E8600 Core 2 Duo (8GB) - Vista Ultimate 64 & Ubuntu 8.10 64 Sources: SB3 (4), SB Boom (2), Duet, Accuphase DP65v CD Amplifier: Accuphase E306v Loudspeakers: Ceeroy 3-way tuned by Darmstadt Psychoacoustics Lab Headphones: Grado SR-1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pablolie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55999 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
