Well, after much sweating and huffing and puffing, I now have a clean install with a 100Gb partition dedicated to music.
It was not easy I will say that! Perhaps a driver CD would have helped! Oh well, OH's laptop came into play and all is well. Gradually getting necessary programs reinstalled and plan to copy my music files over from my back up disk to the laptop during the night. I won't be in a hurry to do that again! Thanks for all the ponters though.
