I think this is an old bug if you ever start Squeezecenter when the discs are NOT mounted their content get flushed from the dB afaik there is no function in SC that keep tracks of "temporary" libraries of any kind.
It would be hard to fix, if disk are gone, SC can not present the files as they where there ? or know that exactly these files may reappear in the future ? when the disk mounts again. I don't know the exact bug number for this you can search bugzilla about it.
