You must be using a very old version. To answer the OP, I found the easiest way to stop and start SC is to create 2 batch files and leave them on the desktop. This saves having to go into administrative tools all the time. Open notepad, type "net stop squeezesvc", then Save as stopSC.bat with the file type as all files.
