        ...format the drive for FAT and it'll be read/writeable by OSX,
        Linux, XP.  Note that you can't actually format a FAT drive
        >32GB(?) with XP...you have to use 98, Linux, or OSX to do that.

        I use this setup at home where the MP3 Collection may be dragged
        to any number of machines.  I had a question about a week ago
        relating to a problem with formatting a backup drive
        (ultimately, I believe the problem is that Linux and OSX will
        gladly work with a non-partitioned, FAT32 drive...where XP will
        not).
