Hi all, I'm having a weird and incessant problem with my Transporter + SqueezeCetner that's driving me nuts. Here's my setup:
Transporter PowerBook G4 OSX 10.4.11 I've had the Transporter for over a year. I use SqueezeNetwork almost all of the time, and hadn't used SqueezeCenter for many months. Just recently I tried to stream some tracks from my PowerBook via SqueezeCenter. When I switched to SqueezeCenter, the Transporter automatically started downloading the latest firmware. Then it rebooted. When it reconnected to SqueezeCenter, I played a track. The level meters on the Transporter screen showed audio signal, but nothing was coming out of my speakers. I checked the audio connections. Everything was fine (I hadn't change anything). I switched back to SqueezeNetwork. Audio signal was fine (listened to KCRW). Switched back to SqueezeCenter. Machine right away starts downloading latest firmware (wait, didnt it just update the latest FW last time?). Same issue: No signal to amp/speakers. This happened many times. Got really frustrated. Tried again multiple times. Same issue. I thought maybe my version of SqueezeCenter on my PowerBook was outdated. It was. So I updated to 7.3.2. I restarted the Transporter. On reboot, connect to PowerBook. Transporter screen shows 'Connecting to SlimServer...' Then, nothing. Transporter screen goes blank. Still nothing. Ok, thats lame. So I switch back to SqueezeNetwork for some KCRW radio stream. When I've switched over, the level meters show signal but now there's no signal coming out of my speakers either!? The problem that was occurring for SqueezeCenter only is now occurring for SqueezeNetwork too. And the machine just plain dies on SqueezeCenter. I'm left with a system that has the latest Transporter FW and SqueezeCenter SW but produces absolutely no sound. Can someone please help!? I've rebooted the system multiple times and that doesn't help. This is really frustrating. I want to chuck this whole system out the window and just stream directly from iTunes at this point...
