>From my searching I have somewhat of a unique request.... here is my setup
I have a squeezebox boom in my kitchen (love it) I also have a MSI wind netbook I also have a slingbox. I am using my slingbox to stream television to my netbook to watch on the deck, in the kitchen, etc. The only issue I have is that the speakers on the netbook are weak. We like to listen to the local news while we are getting supper ready. With pots banging it is sometimes hard to hear what they are saying. My idea is to take advantage of our Boom and wirelessly stream the audio from the netbook (extract from the sling stream)and play it over the boom. I realize that there will be delay and that the audio will not be in sync... but I don't want to "watch" the news...just listen. If their is something interesting, I can always virtually rewind it and watch it anyway. I downloaded VLC thinking I could use that but to date haven't been able to get a stream to successfully play on my Boom. Before I spend a bunch more time on that, I thought I would poll this group and see what ideas some of you may have. PS. I don't have a PC with a videocapture card close to my set top boxes so the slingbox is my video option. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!! -- dgos ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dgos's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20473 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=59255 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
