Wow Howard, what would even lead you to think that? It's not a trial,
it's a 30 day money back if not satisfied guarantee. I was interested
in buying multiple returned Transporters and Slim Devices said they
don't sale them (and commented that few get returned anyway).
Transporters are actually sold brand new to the buyers. Slim Devices
guarantees that they will take it back before the end of 30 days if
your not satisfied. They don't ask you up front if you want a trail or
used unit nor do they offer any such program. Everybody that buys one,
gets a brand new factory sealed Transporter. Slim Devices has no way of
knowing if your going to keep it or not, so it *-HAS-* to be brand new
because you probably will keep it.

Additionally, the Transporter is the one of the devices that Slim
Devices sells that has a decent profit margin on it. They are not going
to get rich off the sales of Transporters, but they are going to keep
making them as long as there is demand and decent retail price
support.

I love mine and was going to put one in each of our vacation homes, our
two luxury rentals, and pick one up for my dad on the cheap, if I could
have bought the returns. I think another reason the returns don't go on
the used market is to help support the current retail price. If the
returns are not sold to the public, they can't end up on EBAY, which is
probably a wise decision.
