The 0x0101 (lost synchronization) error is returned by libmad when it fails to find the requisite sync word at the expected location in the bitstream. It usually indicates either a corrupt bitstream
The 0x0238 error is a Huffman data overrun error. This usually is an indication of an error made by the mp3 encoder during creation of the stream. Looks like a problem with the file/stream being sent to squeezeslave, not a problem with SS itself.
