As Michael says it's legal mumbo-jumbo craziness between the record co's, lawyers, and probably even certain country laws. Same is true with Last.fm in Canada. In Canada they can use Last.fm on their computers without issue, but Last.fm (currently) cannot be streamed to an SD device in Canada.
