Check inside for a loose connection which may have occurred in shipping. Make sure the boards are fully seated.
The reason I don't think you have a fried unit is that SB3's inputs are protected from overvoltage and reverse polarity. When I was testing this feature, I tried some incorrect power supplies and could not get it to cook.
