You can. Use the ADD button to add songs to the Now Playing
playlist. When you want to save, press NOW PLAYING, then press and
hold PLAY. You'll be prompted to name your playlist.

We've been discussing this, looking for the right solution. It's a
good idea, but one that's only come up recently. Would love to add
this feature, as long as it's easy to learn and use and doesn't
break any other functionality.

No and no.
If it is, as good as other aspects of the device are, I'll probably
have to jump ship.
Is there another similar product that you can do this with? I'd love
to have an example to learn from.
