The workaround worked, thanks! After I changed region to UK English, I experienced some random crashes, four or so in an hour. The crashes were random and occurred when iPeng was idle, when I did not touch the iPod. Did the switch of region perhaps trigger a re-import or re-organization of the database which choked iPeng? I have some 61k of songs.
