Could you try running this with the DOS prompt window set to stay open?
That, or open the command prompt from the start menu and run the
server from command line:
cd "\program files\slimserver\server"
slim.exe
The crash message is probably not a slimserver debug message, so is
being spit out just as the dos window closes on you.
