I would personally prefer an automatically generated page based on the plugin repository information linked from this wiki page: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezeCenter_Repositories It's pretty clear to me that Logitech seems to have chosen to not promote third party plugins. They might just have missed it but it feels strange to miss the third party plugins concept, so I suspect it was an intentional decision to make them harder to find. Hopefully the reason is that they intends to make them more visible through Extension Downloader. Even though there are some third party plugins that isn't music related I think most are related to music and enhances the system as a music player.
