Of course they can invite who they want. But The Computer Audiophile has in my mind attempted to be an impartial party to manufacturers and friend to the enthusiast. I most certianly do not agree with all his opinions but the impression I have always percieved from surfing his site was his purpose was to aid the public.
When he puts himself in the position of hosting for some of the manufacturers equipment he highly recommends, owns and advertise on his site the event takes on the aura of an infomercial and it saddens me to see the hobby degrade to this level of marketing. The press releases are sketchy at best. Lengthy research would indicate the event is more about recording on a computer than playback as the event is billed. Bottom line. The event is the brainchild of an Audio Consultant and his co-sponsor is The Audio Salon in Beverly Hills. Tells me pretty much all I need to know.
