Morning all -

I picked up a Squeezebox Classic yesterday, and set it up without major
incident. Fresh installation of SqueezeCenter 7.3.3 on Windows XP SP2,
connected via WLAN at 86% signal strength. Everything is working fine,
and I am REALLY pleased with it - apart from one thing that is driving
me crazy..

After almost exactly 20 minutes from initial power-up, the middle line
of the display simply goes out. It doesn't corrupt itself, flicker or
mess about first- it just, suddenly, goes blank. I have attached a jpg
that shows it. Power-off (by which I mean, switch off at the wall) for
30 seconds does NOT fix this... but power-off for 45 seconds DOES. But
then of course, after probably less than five minutes now, it goes out
again. Bouncing SlimServer does not seem to help either.

It gets bizarrer (?!) than that, though.. I noticed this morning that,
if I set the 'now playing' screensaver to be the spectrum analyser....
after a few seconds of spectrum analytical goodness, the middle line
reappears ! Wonderful, I think to myself... but if I left-arrow back to
the 'Now Playing' display, the middle line is gone again !.

It's not getting unduly hot, so I doubt it is a thermally intermittent
issue.. the fact that it works at first, and seems to reappear under
certain circumstances, tells me it's not a physical fault... so I am
thinking firmware issue, or some issue with SlimServer itself ? The
first thing it did on power-up was upgrade its firmware - version 271 I
believe. Also, I read elsewhere on this forum, that the display info is
all sent as a bit pattern to the SB by the server...so could that be the
problem ?

Any advice would be gratefully received - I LOVE this little box, but
it's breaking my heart that it has an issue...

TIA

Chris.
