The whole thing comes down to this - upgrades to wireless will require: a. All new firmware. (That stuff is not in the public domain so there is no linux wizz kid hacking it)
b. An all new wireless receiver - no doubt not an off the shelf part and in all probability a proprietary bus connector and card connector. c. New router hardware for anyone with a draft n router that is not compatible.
