I am using Ubuntu 9.04 in the 64 bit version on my newest desktop computer -- mostly because I ordered it with 8GB of ram and with minor exceptions, 32 bit OS versions don't use (can't use?) more than 4GB. In these days of bloated software and RAM being nearly free, it was inexpensive, or perhaps even cheap, to get the system with 8GB of ram. I consider myself a pretty serious geek, nearly 40 years of professional software, a MS in Computer Science, 10+ computers in my house, and more than five SqueezeBoxen. I can't get Flash to work in a browser.
