An alternate approach might be to install 'squeezeslave2' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54124&highlight=squeezeslave2) - which is just a stream-to-audio commandline app (which you can minimize or convert to a service if you want) and then use the web UI to control it. You'd need 0.9 or above to work with SCS 7.4x
You could also use moose (check the wiki), which is a windows UI (faster than the web UI). AFAIK, moose uses squeezeslave2 for audio output - but controls it directly. I notice that moose now supports musicIP, so it's time for me to try it again. Oh - on 7.3x hardware players and PCs running SS2 synchronize just fine.
