Hello, I have the same problem. I ripped and used my cd collection on a Mac so Gracenote even include some chinese character (for Kitaro) and both iTunes and Slimserver work well with them.
For some reason I switch these duties to a PC (xp mce 2005) and while iTunes PC has no problem playing them, slimserver just can't read them.
