some times it can be that the analog ins on most recievers are digitized anyway.
So one is listening to DA-AD-DA wich is not good . You seldom get the full resolution as often this input is rather unsesitive to aviod clipping . Use an spl meter and compare the volume ,before listening maybe one is louder than the other , subtle volume changes is percived as "better" by our brain. If one source is 2dB louder you won't hear that as loud but rather like "better" when you switch. So for most receivers the obvious input is the digital one. The only subtle manipulation sbs and the squeezebox may be guilty of is replay gain, ei equalization of volume between tracks . But if you turn of this or do not have replay gain tags it wont matter. So the squeezebox pass bitferfect audio on its digital out. -- Mnyb -------------------------------------------------------------------- No it can NOT be controlled with iTunes.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=70208 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
