I think that your parents would love having their very nice stereo system hooked up with the Touch (when it comes out). I know that there will be some new bugs with it but they will be ironed out in time , I am sure. I have a similar setup as you described for your parents and I love the fact that my stereo can blast music to all parts of our home...even though each room cannot be individually volume controlled. I use the itouch with ipeng as a remote controller and I find that it really works well. So, I vote for the Touch for your parents...if you can wait.
I actually have the SB3 and I am eagerly awaiting the Touch for another area of our upstairs. The only problem I have with my system as it stands (SB3,Radio,Boom), is the sync on MSB.com is inconsistent. At times it is right on and then at other times it is not right on. But that is off the subject.
