You probably need to hold the left arrow key pressed a little longer to reach the menu I'm referring to. It seems like you change the player setting in MSB and SBS respectively, but as soon as you change it will revert to the setting in the player itself, that's the setting you need to change. I had the exact same problem after the last firmware upgrade.
