Yes I have had the same problem too. I'm only using Softsqueeze on my home-built Media Centre PC and I get it too, but it's intermittent, it doesn't happen all the time.
I find that if I shutdown Softsqueeze client on the Media PC and restart it, it fixes it. My theory is that there may be some electrical interference going on with the wireless network at my house as it seems to happen badly when there is poor weather (like really really cold and stormy and wet) or like when I had a tradie around to my house installing a colourbond steel fence - the circular saw would often cause the distortion issue. If the restart of SB doesn't fix it, I also refresh/repair the Wireless Network connection in Windows XP - it refreshes the IP address and clears the NetBT and ARP caches and that usually fixes it.
