Its about running the scanner on demand. And running it from the Control panel or the settings page is what I do now. Works alright but its too complicated for wife and kids. This was investigated in advance you see. This is one of the reasons I got a Squeezebox - the possibility to run a scan from a command line. I have the whole setup where the wife only has to insert a new disc when she has one. Then its supposed to rip the CD, update SqueezeCenter and eject the disc.
