Why not just point Safari to your.server.com:9000/stream.mp3 and use iPeng to control it? This has the advantage of being able to listen to your music in the background while using other apps on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
Works great over WiFi, a bit problematic over 3G - large lag time and while it's technically running in the background using another app in the foreground that needs data access will interrupt the stream. Not exactly elegant, but until Apple starts allowing a wider range of apps to run in the background its not a bad approach. -- JeffHart "You know, I'm all for progress. It's change I object to."
