Kimo, To answer your question, No, you can't run Squeezebox server on the Tvix. At least without modding it.
There are several websites dedicated to hacking the Tvix. Do a google search for "Tvix hack". The MPC forum (www.mpcclub.com) has a lot of info on the tvix. One thing to note is that the 6600 is based on a new chip (Real Tek). All the previous modles are based on various Sigma designs chips.
