I have the same problem like anguston with m3u playlists. Names of
internet radio streams are not displayed until you start one of them.
The number of entries in the playlist will displayed correctly. You can
scroll through the 'empty' names list and you can start any radio
station and the name or the current played song will now displayed. This
happens with slimserver version 7.4.1. With the previously installed
slimserver version (7.3.??) I didn't had this problem. One more hint:
The slimserver is running on an ReadyNAS device by Netgear and after
each shutdown and restarting the NAS device the names of the list are
empty.

Here you can see some entries of the playlist:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,radio multicult2.0

#EXTINF:-1,ByteFM
http://streamingserver04.byte.fm:8000/
#EXTINF:-1,Antenne Top 40
