Just my 2 cents... If the router is old, replace it with a new one (they don't last forever) My new LinkSys WRT54GL is a dream, great signal strength
Try to get AP closer, moved mine and it now works great for my wireless SB3s and gave the opportunity to Ethernet the Duet Change the channel on router, seems to make a bit of difference for me.
