Right now, the SyncMasters (i.e. master players in a sync group) come first, each followed by the SyncSlaves of his group. I think the order of the SyncMasters is pretty random, AFAIK I've kept the order from the server answer. But you are right, it may be a good thing to add some sort of sorting, e.g. alphabetical.
