Yup, that's what I did in the end, I felt sure I was missing something, but alas no.
I went for the Harmony One BECAUSE it was by Logitech, my assumption being that although its a lot more expensive than the other one I was looking at, it should be no problem with compatibility with my squeezeboxes and it should be easy peasy to get them to talk to each other. Hah, more fool me, you live and learn. Shouldn't ALL logitech products with an IR control be automatically added to the Logitech Harmony One software application, first, automatically, by process, before any other manufacturers get added? When you consider the pricepoint of these products, and how long they have been in the offing, surely that's not asking much? ...and why would I choose "Digital Music Server"? The SB Radio is not a Digital Music Server at all, and the Touch is only that if you want to make it so (which I don't). I knew I didnt want to control my actual Digital Music Server, which is in a cupboard and has no IR anyway, so that's just confusing. Its like calling something Toaster when you mean Fridge. Just seems it would be better if one group of Logitech would email the other group of Logitech, a simple config file for each Squeezebox product, (or just one as the OP seems to indicate it would work for all) to add into the software directly, instead of relying on people counter-intuitively installing a 'Digital Music Server' device, calling it an SB3 and then going back in and renaming it and reprogramming half the buttons. That simple solution would have prevented me from chasing my tail for an hour looking for a logitech product in a Logitech piece of software which *should* be there, but wasn't. Now I'm not convinced its installed properly, as I don't get access to some of the other fancy features described in this thread, which I have read from start to finish looking for a solution to this. Pfff. Anyway, thanks for the clarification, Cheers Jim -- squeezyjim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ squeezyjim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34525 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67769 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
