I use DeltaCopy (uses rsync) to backup files from my Windows box to my Solaris box connected to my Unslung Linksys NSLU2 (Slug). I use rsync + ssh on the Solaris box to make off-site backups to a Slug at my parent's house.
Think about this: what do you lose if a fire breaks out? In my case I lose my CDs, my computers, the Slug holding my backups. In effect I lose everything. Having an off-site backup keeps your data safe from a local catastrophe.
