If this becomes an issue there is another solution. As USB is becoming so popular for mobile electronics they now have USB Power Hubs for cars, just look in any automotive section of most any store including WalMart. These just splice into any existing auto power source (usually the lighter) and provide power and charging to any USB powered device.
