My remark that the use of DRM makes this service "broken" wasn't a
reference to the SB2's inability to play the files. Much as I love my
SB2 (indeed I like it so much that - like WSLam - I sold my high-end CD
player), it isn't necessarily the only place I might want to play my
music.

DRM is by its very nature an insidious, evil, controlling technology.
The overt reason for it is to prevent piracy. But the hidden agenda is
to deliver music that can only be played on "authorised" hardware. And
the end result will be that you'll be forced to buy a particular replay
device if you want to hear a specific piece of music. And when there are
multiple different DRM mechanisms around, that's multiple pieces of
"authorised" hardware required if you don't want your listening choices
limited. We all need to resist DRM.
