Not only wifi phones, but also non-phone devices like the iPod Touch. I think that Logitech would have a hard time coming (late) to market with a single-purpose device that would likely cost more than multipurpose devices. Look at the cost of the Harmony remotes, which have the touchscreen but don't do wifi. I haven't been following the Logitech Revue developments, but even that new remote (Harmony Link) seems IR-based rather than wifi. The blog post by a Logitech VP saying -"If you have a device that uses a remote control, chances are that it uses IR."- also makes me think Logi's not going to be pushing new wifi remotes soon, touchscreen or otherwise. (see http://blog.logitech.com/2010/06/04/a-peek-under-the-hood-google-tv-and-logitech-harmony-link/)
A little further from "home", not long ago Sonos introduced a single-purpose remote that fits your description and also released a free iPhone app. I'd love to know which of those is more popular among Sonos users. -- aubuti ------------------------------------------------------------------------ aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80535 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
