I would seriously suspect your wi-fi router / access point, in
particular the power supply that came with it. I am now on my third psu
for my netgear router.

I got exactly your symptoms (everything fine wired, but problems with
wireless) and repacing the router's power supply fixed the problem
completely.  Trouble is there is no way to test this without buying a
new psu.  However, that is cheaper than buying a new rotuer!
