Maybe I am reading this wrong or reading into it. IIRC when players are sync'd there is only one stream. Example, if three Touch units are sync'd with a 24/96 then they all get 24/96. But if I have a Transporter or Touch, a Boom, and an SB3 all sync'd and my SBS server is powerful enough to do SOX while playing a 24/96 tune, since it is one stream, all three players including the TP/Touch get 24/48. It is my understanding that there is no selectivity or multiple streams.
That is the question the OP is asking, correct? Yes you can play your Hi-Res files, but if you Sync older players, all files will be down sampled to 24/48 even for 24/96 capable players. I do like the addition of SOX to SBS as I no longer have to maintain a separate library with 24/96 files for my Transporter and can Sync players without the dreaded 'Format Error' message if I put 24/96 files in the playlist. -- iPhone *iPhone* Media Room: Transporter, VTL TL-6.5 Signature Pre-Amp, Ayre MX-R Mono's, VeraStarr 6.4SE 6-channel Amp, Vandersteen Speakers: Quatro Mains, VCC-5 Reference Center, four VSM-1 Signatures, Video: Runco RS 900 CineWide AutoScope 2.35:1 Living Room: Duet, ADCOM GTP-870HD, Cinepro 3K6SE III Gold, Vandersteen Model 3A Signature, Two 2Wq subs, VCC-2, Two VSM-1 Kitchen: Squeezebox BOOM Bedroom: Second Boom Bathroom: Squeezebox Radio Ford Thunderbird: Duet, Mac Mini Ford Expedition: SB Touch, USB drive ------------------------------------------------------------------------ iPhone's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81125 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
