There have been periods where SqueezePlay completely breaks and won't even compile for desktop use because of a change made for the hardware players (granted this hasn't happened in a long time). This has persisted until someone sat down and fixed things to let it compile and work on the desktop again. It's primary purpose is as a development and testing tool rather than being a software player.
