VortexBox software is it's own OS so if you have windows or some other OS on your old system VortexBox will delete it during the install. VortexBox is designed to be an appliance so you can control your VortexBox via a web interface. You can use it's built in ripper or your own ripper. The appliance that was reviewed it a totally self contained unit.
