the computer has to be wired to the router, the sb3 can be wireless.

i have a dell laptop and when i got it, i could not get it to go to
sleep or hibernate unattended. i tried EVERYTHING and the only thing
that worked, was swapping out the hard drive. from that point on, it
slept like a baby.

since SBS appears to be the only thing stopping your computer from
sleeping, i wonder if a SB or SBC or SN or something is reaching SBS
and waking the computer even as it attempts to get to sleep?

try disconnecting the cable/dsl modem from the router, and turning off
all slim hardware, and see if the problem persists.
