Look at some of my posts in the Third Party Plugins forum (SvrPowerCtrl thread) for a detailed discussion. Here's a brief account.
Essentially, the Mac will go to sleep if there is no keyboard or mouse action and no hard drive access. Streaming internet radio means the hard drive is not accessed so the Mac sleeps. Solution is to use Jiggler or Caffeine (both free) which prevent sleep when activated. And ServerPowerControl can be set to run shell scripts, which can easily be written to activate or de-activate your preferred one of the two programs.
