A 45% WiFi signal could be a factor.  Full computers like your laptop
can handle poor WiFi signals much better than a simple network music
device.

Can you temporarily move the SB3 much closer to the router to see if
that corrects the issue?  This will help determine if WiFi is the
problem.

You may be able to boost the routers WiFi signal strength through a few
basic WiFi settings and tweaks in your routers Admin functions.
-  set router to only use G mode (I'm assuming you do not have an N
router)
-  see what ch's (1 thru 11) are in use around you, choose ch 1 or 6 or
11 that is NOT in use
-  reorient router and/or it's antennas for better coverage to the
problem area
-  move router closer to problem area

Just throwing out some basics to get started.  :)
